Meet the family behind the mission
One family’s journey became a mission for more families.
Jack lives with Duchenne muscular dystrophy, but his sense of adventure has no limits. Our family has seen how accessibility, thoughtful planning, and an inclusive community can help turn barriers into shared experiences—giving Jack more freedom to join the moments that make childhood unforgettable.
Founded by Chantelle Lippold and inspired by Jack, Beyond the Pavement exists so more children with DMD can experience freedom, participation, adventure, and belonging.
What we do
Mobility is the beginning. Participation is the goal.
Our programs are being developed around real-world barriers that can keep children with DMD from joining family life, school, travel, recreation, and the adventures that make childhood memorable.
Family Experiences
Support designed around the outings, recreation, travel, and shared moments a child wants to enjoy with family.
Inclusion Planning
Practical guidance for identifying participation barriers and planning a more accessible, enjoyable experience.
Adventure & Inclusion
Accessible experiences and partnerships that help children explore, celebrate, and be part of the moment.
Community Partnerships
Relationships that make family outings, recreation, travel, and community participation more reachable.
How help starts
Start with the experience, not the paperwork.
Tell us what your child wants to join, why it matters to your family, and what barrier is standing in the way.
Name the experience
Share the outing, trip, recreation, celebration, school activity, or family moment your child wants to join.
Describe the barrier
Tell us what accessibility, mobility, transportation, or planning challenge is limiting participation.
Explore what could help
We look at mission fit, available resources, and practical ways to make participation more possible.

Every path should be possible
Childhood does not happen only on smooth surfaces.
Grass. Gravel. Sand. Trails. Theme parks. Campsites. Sporting events. Family vacations. The tire-track motif represents the chance to reach the places families love and make memories without the pavement being the limit.
